Salt Bayou Kampground near Slidell, LA

We booked here last minute d/t issue with other campground we had originally booked. They were able to accommodate us with no issues. We chose site M9 which was a pull through and looked to have a nice view of the inlet. We enjoyed our site it was peaceful and my husband was able to look out at the water while he worked from his office area. I liked the Spanish moss hanging from trees. The campground was quiet, cell service was a little hit and miss even with starlink but we managed.the sites are little tight for big rigs as well as some of the curves in the road. The day left we actually backed out of our pull through sight because there was no way we could make the turn out of the sight and if we did there is a tight curve at the end of the road where on the passenger side there seems to be some campers being stored and on the driver's side they are actively working on the campsite and have steaks close to road area making for a tight turn so we felt backing out would be best for us. As I said earlier they are actively working on the campground but it did not affect us at all it was very quiet even with the heavy equipment they were using. We pinned this campground for future stays when the area. Highly recommend just be warned those with big rigs it may be a little more difficult to maneuver but it is doable.we were in a 40 foot fifth wheel

We had an excellent 2 week stay here. The owner is very kind and accommodating as we not only arrived late, but had a late departure due to a package we were waiting on. The drive from the park to New Orleans is a breeze, and we had a lot of fun exploring the city and catching up with some friends. We did not get to use the pool or kayak launch but we plan to do so next time!!! Thank you! <3

They are fixing up the campground. Spots are small. Laundry is great. Make sure to check your spam folder for directions to access the laundry room.

We spent five days here with a SMART RV group. Very nice and fairly economical RV park. The manager was very accessible and helpful. We would stay here again

This park is great! The location is perfect for feeling like camp but being near the fun of New Orleans. The owners are friendly and helpful. While I was there they were resurfacing the putt putt course. Looks like a lot of fun!

Very friendly owners. Also met some other campers. They came hung out with us. Very clean and very reasonable.

Quiet place to stay. Good staff friendly and courteous.

Thank you Salt Bayou for a wonderful stay, in my 8 months of residency the campground was very quiet, well kept and all staff were pleasant and kind. The other tenants at the campground were just a pleasant, always with a quick wave and a friendly smile. I will definetly be recommending this campground to all my friends and family.
