Salt Bayou Kampground is conveniently located ¾ mile off of I-10, & 5 miles from the I-12/Hwy 59 split in Slidell, only 29 miles to the Historic French Quarter & 31 miles from Bay St. Louis & the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Slidell is one of the safest cities in Louisiana & a great area for local tourists.  There is plenty of shopping, recreational parks, night life, amazing restaurants, & the Olde Towne District in Slidell to keep you entertained.  If you’re in town for Mardi Gras, Slidell has six parades to choose from.  New Orleans is just a quick transit across Lake Pontchartrain to experience one of the best tourist destinations in the country.  Wanna hit the beach?  Waveland & Bay St. Louis are only 30 minutes away!
